Gold Ruby Encalmo Vase with Filigrana
This wide-shouldered vase is made by joining multiple “cups” of glass together while hot, then blowing and shaping the form into the final piece. In this piece, brilliant ruby colored glass sandwich a band made of of white filigrana glass. This middle section features scores of thin glass canes individually twisted in a variety of patterns, and joined together to form a woven band.
